How do ross cobs relate to cornish cross?

Cornish Cross or Cornish X is a generic term that generally means a white feathered meat chicken that will grow really fast.

Different companies have developed different versions of white-feathered meat birds that are generically known as Cornish Cross. Cobb is one common strain, Ross is another common train. I'm sure there are any others. I think there may even be a red feathered version, not sure about that though, someone may have been talking about Rangers.

Saying "Cornish Cross" is like saying dual-purpose chicken. "Ross" or "Cobb" is like saying which dual purpose chicken: Sussex, Wyandotte, Rock or one of many others.

I can't remember who but one of out forum members recently grew out a bunch of Cobb strain Cornish Cross and a different bunch of Ross strain Cornish Cross side by side. There were differences.
