"Gigantor egg"!!! Who thinks it will hatch...?

OK, Gigantor and all the others are well developed and going into lockdown tomorrow morning!!! So hard to see if there are two embryos in there but the egg is pretty full!!!!!!!!!!

I am also attempting to hatch an abnormally large egg. I have never done this before either, so I guess we're in it together!

Good Luck!

Haha, it's me who needs a good stiff drink! all my expensive pheasant eggs are backing up in the other incubator because these neighbors' eggs are bopping away in this one. All of them developed!

Well it's day 23, I have five chicks from seven eggs...and Gigantor and one other have not pipped. I am going to give them another day but all the others were out day 21/22.
The others played hockey with Gigantor...but he's got a tough shell! My husband thinks he's an alligator. Will check for movement before I quit tomorrow...

Wow! That is a big one! I would go for just to see what happens. And make sure to make an updated post as it develops. I'd like to see it when it's candled, and when/if it hatches. It would be really neat! And to the conjoined yolk person... They may have been conjoined when you cracked it open, but they also could have eventually separated as it developed. Too late now. But you never know what can happen. Good luck with your neighbors gigantic egg!

I stuck around a dozen jumbo eggs in my bator back when my EE was laying them constantly. None ever hatched. Most quit by day 14. Even if they do make it to hatch day it's best to have a seperate bator setup for them to hatch in because you will have to help. You generally have to manually pip them, especially to try to save both chicks on a double yolk egg, and while you are opening the bator repeatedly to pip and then slowly remove bits of shell you'll risk killing the rest. It's really not worth it unless you want to setup a 2nd hatcher.

RIP Gigantor...

I have five healthy chicks from seven eggs.
Gigantor did not hatch and on opening the egg I found one embryo which had quit about a week ago and one undeveloped yolk.
The other unhatched egg had a fully developed chick in it. Not sure what went wrong there but I had very wet sticky chicks on the second day of the hatch so I wonder if it was the humidity...I ran it at around thirty to forty percent humidity throughout and sixty five at lockdown. Temp was good...no spikes and the others hatched on day 21/22.
Thanks for all the nice messages...I really appreciate it! Good luck everyone...
