Gilberta’s world(indoors!)

I have an indoor duck as well! She looks pretty similar to your Gilberta. Warrior was hatched with deformed feet and is "disabled". When she hatched, she couldn't hold up her head properly for the first day, and she didn't know how to walk until much later than her clutch mates. She still trips and stumbles a lot more than other ducks, and we think she might be partially blind or visually challenged. She overall acts less aware of her surroundings and has trouble finding her food and water unless we dip her beak in it first.

We have a small outdoor pen on our deck that she goes into during the day (and in summer her kiddie pool is out there) and at night she is diapered and comes inside the house.

I like to take her to the park and outdoor events during summer as well. Children love her!

Her 1st birthday this year! I made her a duck-safe cake with yogurt and mealworms.

Anyway, Gilberta is very cute! She looks well taken care of. I see we're both not afraid to let our ducks swim in the bath haha. I don't see many other people who keep indoor ducks! :D
Wow, she’s adorable!! They’re so much fun to have around and everyone loves meeting her!

I'm so glad we have another indoor duck owner here that's just about as nutty as I am! We have two indoor feathered friends that live with us and they're a riot! If you lived closer, I wouldn't be opposed to play dates! Haha

This is a picture of the boys sharing some ice before bed. The nugget ice from the gas station is their favorite because it's soft. :)

They are adorable!! I will have to try the crushed ice with Gil's, she'd probably like that! Every night before bed I give her pea's and the dog an ice cube. They're so much fun to have inside. Everyone say's their ducks are funny but they'll NEVER know how funny until they live inside! Do you have a pen or more a room or space for them?

If it works for you, and everyone is happy, then I say more power to you both. Gilberta and the others are very, very cute.
Gilberta loves living inside and has never showed any issues ever being the only duck. However, if it ever does become as issue for her, I will immediately find a similar aged ducky to live inside with her (hopefully the new duck is cool with living indoors). As for now though I'm not sure if another duck would change her behavior or her love for her life style. As long as she's happy, I'm letting her be the special case of the not so lonely single duck!
