Welcome aboard the BYC! I'm with the others that say it looks like a Rhode Island Red, since it looks like the 4 i currently have.I have ISA Browns and Sussex hens that seem to be really friendly. Surprised that the RIR hasn't been towards you.Oh wow thanks!! She could be a Rhode Island Red bc I have read they don’t always have single combs and her comb is different. She is definitely the least friendly and the only one who won’t eat out of your hand. We are looking to add a few new ones this year, suggestions for friendly, quiet ones who can’t fly?
We didn’t raise her from a chick, we had two buff orpingtons we had to give to our friend bc they were too loud and so he swapped us the barred rock and red. They were pullers and the barred rock has warmed up but Red hasn’t yet. Maybe this spring!I have ISA Browns and Sussex hens that seem to be really friendly. Surprised that the RIR hasn't been towards you.
