Gilroy, Ca passes ordinance to allow chickens in the city limits!!

Yes! I've been waiting since I bought my house out here. Have they actually approved it? My neighbor has 2 right now. Yes I admit I've been a little jealous.

Oddly enough, I live in San Jose and usually buy my hens in Gilroy.

Gilroy city council finally has gotten with the times and adopted an ordinance that will allow upto 6 small animals, including chickens, within city limits!!!! Super exciting. The new ordinance will go into effect in early April.

Is the new ordinance actually in effect if you click http://www.codepublishing.com/ca/gilroy/html/Gilroy04.html#4.20 it still says no chickens. Have you head anything else?
