Well... sorry to disappoint, but it had only two yolks. But...... they were HUGE yolks- larger than a jumbo egg each. I say it in past tense because we had it for breakfast- deeeeeelicious!
Here is right before I cracked it- I had to pull out the middle divider of the egg carton and lay the egg on it's side to get in the fridge- the carton still did not close
This is after it was cracked, and just look at those humongous, gorgeous, stand up and notice me, orange yolks!!
I recently started getting some double-yolkers from my girls, also.
I was wondering if hens tend to lay more double-yolkers as they get older, kind of like how women increase their chances of hyper-ovulating as they age? Seems to make sense...
