I prefer pellets as there isn't as much waste. I'd throw a small handful down on the ground in front of them to get their interest, and I'd perhaps partially crush some of the pellets until you can get them converted. OH, and for me, the pellets don't mold as easily as the crumbles did. Bought one bag of crumbles recently because I thought I'd be feeding it to my Seramas, but didn't so gave it to my SLW and had to throw the last 1/4 bag away because it molded. Have not had that issue with the pellets.
