I have 12 chicks that I got from the kids at school who hatched them as a science project. I'm pretty sure they are mixed breeds. I may have some easter eggers, brahmas, marans, rocks, and legbars in the mix. They are about 6 weeks old. I'm hoping to get some opinions on sex for each of them and maybe some guesses on what breeds their parents may be. I tried to get a couple good pictures of each. I will number them to make it easier. (Please excuse our mess. We are cleaning out the garage today.)

I think the first and last pictured are cockerels... nobody else jumps out at me as being cockerel. I'm horrible at figuring out mixed breeds, but I did see the one buff brahma in the mix. Anybody who is brahma will have to wait until they're much older to sex as they tend to mature slower than most.

I agree that the only ones that look suspicious to be cockerels right now are photos #1, 2, and (maybe) 3 and then the last picture. The rest appear to be pullets. It looks like you probably have one purebred buff Brahma. The one pictured above it looks like it might be a Brahma crossed with something else.

A few weeks ago there were guesses about 4 and 10 maybe being Marens but I don't know enough about the breed to really know. I have had Brahmas before but they were white. They were really sweet and very consistent layers. I'm hoping this one is too.
