Cochin, stress created problems here. Yes, shes registered in 3 registries as a nigerian dwarf, so no mistakes here. The stupid ex-owner hauled her into town and she spent all day w/o food and water before a two hour trip home. How dumb can you get, anyway? she's steadied out at 1.5 cups a day. Complete pain in the bum too, the lack of milk.
She was bread for looks and blue eyes. But, her bags down a lot. I'm milking every 8 hours more or less, so hopefully she will start to improve. BTW - according to an extremely good breeder who is always in the top 10 for production, 1 gal. is far from average, 1 gal is extremely exceptional. 1.5 qts a day would be more realistic for a good milker. The best milkers rarely produce even 7 lbs a day (3.5 qts) and not for long, just fyi. Jobi would know, she's been a top ranked milk producing breeder for over 20 years now. I'm going to TX to get a doe from her in either March or May.
Hi Kevin, whats new? I'm toally bumming and driving everyone nuts w/o my BYC fix. I'm forced to read (which I love) but I'd also like to be on the internet expanding my mind and chatting with my Amigas! I'm thinking about selling some geese, I'm sick of chores. I'm kvitchy about having to do them all the time, and nobody wants to help. Now, its true that I bought everything cause I wanted them, but I'm about over it now.
Also, the city prosecuter is going to try to get my funds back for the dead birds, and the cops screwed up not giving me names and also allowing the dogs to go home, they were supposed to be held for 10 days. They are at risk of being put down, since they killed domestic stock. Shes going to use that to encourage them to pay up. I told her I didn't really want them killed, but shes not telling them that. shes telling them pay up, or she's insist on euthanization for them. We shall see if that helps.
Hopefully they'll get my internet worked out tomarrow or tuesday. If not, I'm gonna be P.O's since I paid for the whole year.
