Girls vs Girls

Popcorn anyone?

I was actually just about to log off. Glad you're here!

Still trying to rehome the ducks

The peafowl are mating like crazy now. Looks like 3 males 3 females.

Found a Ohiki breeder about 15 minutes away from me

I have a friend remodeling their house this spring so I'll have two free tubs for aquaponics.

Wow, thats really awesome! 3 and 3 is perfect!! Can you tell what type they are yet?

Yay to the free tubs for aquaponics. What are you going to grow in it? Watercress is supposed to be healthy.

I'm glad we caught each other too!

I still can't tell for sure if they are pure or Spauldings. I really really hope that they are. I think I'll be able to tell in in a few more months. Hopefully the people on here can assure me of that.

I'm actually just mostly concerned on raising fish for the wolves. I was thinking of using tilapia.

I'm also looking into going off the grid now.

Depending on my energy source I'll probably still have one I just won't be on as much due to energy drains. I'm not honestly sure how it all works yet so it's something to consider.

I hope so. They are gorgeous but a real pain to keep. I don't honestly know why people like them. Maybe I should have gotten the blues. I heard they are much easier to keep.

I've heard they have great growth rates and work well in contained areas.

Yes, and you can also get a hand crank recharger.

Computer time every night!

Oh well, at least you have some! The eggs from those three pairs should net you a small fortune.

I know tilapia grow well, but I can't remember what their ideal water temp and water motion is. I know you need lots of water movement, a good filter (which can be produces at home). I researched it long ago, but gave up the idea. I can't remember why.

That sounds like a great idea! That would probably work well.

Good point. If I do keep them then it would work out well. Not sure if I can make all that pen space for them though. If I go off the grid then I would prefer to have all of my bird free ranging. Plus I plan on getting a emu.

They do sound like the perfect fish for my situation. I'm not sure how well I can do water movement but I can easily set up a balanced ecosystem with proper plants
