I've also heard some pretty bad things about Anchorage. Everyone always says nice things about Fairbanks though.

I could get use to that kind of drive! I'd prefer that over the city scene any day.

Fairbanks & Ester are wonderful. Not been too far in Ester, but where we're at no one really knows if we're Ester Or Fairbanks, LOL

Oh a drive in Alaska is really refreshing. in 300 miles you make it to 1 town. Maybe. lol
Another great place is Valdez, but they get like 100 ft of snow (more like 40-50, but still), but they're too far away from us, LOL. Great fishing, people once helped me rescue a seagull that was water logged (feathers got too wet. My parents then bought me a net to use for helping any i found. Later that night when i wanted to show my grandma how they float if dead, i found one and I wanted to rescue it cause they get water logged all the time, but she wouldnt let me. Needless to say rest of the trip i wasnt nice to her)

Hey Kev/Marty, if a black swedish has green on its secondary feathers (well blue-ish green) is it a male? I noticed today the black swedish has blue-ish secondary feathers, not just from the light.

Also can runner ducks be a black swedish crested? LOL. I could've swore the black swedish (We have 2, either that or im calling a magpie a swedish but me) was just crested, so now im thinking maybe its a black runner thats bibbed w/ a crest cuz it walks pretty tall

. The most snow I've ever seen was literally like 5 inches of snow. It would defiantly be quite the adjustment come Winter time. Is driving hard with snow on the ground so often? That's too bad about the seagulls. I had no idea they had such trouble being in the water.

I don't believe that's a sex indicator but I've never kept Black Swedish before.

It's quite possible. I've seen a few ducks like what you've described.

Im a duck idiot >.< Ok so The geese, All of them, were limping a few months ago. Some 'fixed' themselves, 2 didnt. 1 was butchered since it was pretty bad, no injuries, and it was about all of them so idk, thought it was a 'my legs hurt' type thing. 1 is still limping but its not bad.
Now i have a limping a duck... The blue swedish, one of the eldest of the ducks '(5 months now i think) is limping. His leg is pretty stiff, and he often just sat down in the water and pushed himself along. I haven't gotten a good look yet, but any ideas? I just noticed 5 seconds ago

Well what happens is they go in the gut containers where all the fish guts were at, and spend too much time so their feathers get soaked and they can't really get out. most people dont care and let them die.

Not really, they plow the roads, but you have to have snow tires, some people put chains, and it requires a bit of getting used to since you have to stop sooner, (We have stop lights on highways.....) go slower, etc.

No. What could i give them until then? Feed store doesnt open till tomorrow, its closed already, and not sure if they have it. (We'd have to buy duck food)

Lol! It's not as common in older ducks but it might be a solution for them.

I know brewers yeast has niacin in it but I'm not sure what else can be used for a substitute. Hopefully Marty knows more about that.
