If it was up to me i would hunt for all my food, grow all my fod, and raise all my food (i.e. cows for milk and meat, pigs, goats etc. RABBITS!!) . Then I would never have to buy from a store again. And we love you for your kind and generous heart. I prefer to be completly responsible for the whole affair as opposed to trusting that the folks at the meat plants are kind, painless, and sensitive to the needs of the living. (what chance is that?) I disapprove of people who just run to the store, and refuse to know what goes into their dinner. IMO, you, cochin and I are respecatble for our own choices, whin IMO are good ones.
As you know, I was vegan, but not for animal rights reasons. (but I DO think we should be like the natives, use it all, waste nothing, then its not bad. Be responsible for your actions, and what you eat.
(you ok? sorry)![]()

If you have room you can have a year round garden, small orchard, chickens for meat and eggs, goats for milk (yogurt, cheeze and Icecream). Then you don't have to do too much at the store. I have about 1 1/2 acre and can do this (don't have the goats yet)..... infact you can do all that on 1/2 acre.... you still have to buy feed though. There is also community support. If you love in an area where neighbors have crops and animals that you can buy from or trade for is really helpfull. I buy lamb and hay from a neighbor. You can even hve medicinal herbs that you can grow, or perhaps they grow wild where you live. If you haven't already found it "the encyclopedia for country living" by Carla Emery is an incredible book that teached you practically everything you need to know and has loads of resources. She passed a few years back and her husband still has the books published. I don't know if and when it will go out of print.
No i know but shes mad because i ddint think of it myselfTell her you love the name and if she loves you she will support you. Its a silly thing to get upset over. The family can name the next goat. My folk used to roll their eyes at names I'd pick on occassion too. What even worse they tried to.... lovingly argue the names I picked for my children. They got over it. No worries. Just laugh with it and go with what you choose. (not trying to be bossy)
