Do you know much about them? Do they always have to be recrossed nubian x dwarf nigerian, or will they also breed true to other nub. x dwarf nig.for mini dwarf

we had have one nubian buck, never ever again, then at shows (i helped a few people show theirs) when one was taken away, all the nubians there freaked out, not joking! my shirt had a hoof print from one jumping on my back will i was trying to keep it calm will her buddies was in the show ring (ouch) from my experiences i dont think for some one starting out with goats it would be a good idea to get some, and also, even if they are minis, nubians can be HUGE i saw some the size of our mini horses, that were not minis, but still 0-0

on the mini part if you want them smaller then yes breed them to a niggy (nigrian) but if you like them at the size they are, breed them to other minis of their breed and work on body type

we ourself own 4 niggy grades (meaning no papers) that if they can will test our way to keep them in (most goats will, but because they are smaller they have a better chance of getting out DX) and we also have alpine, that for her breed is small and super sweet, but from what we understand most alpines are, stubborn. and we also have a lamacha that is small for her breed, but her temperament is just right (they are suppose to be the most docile goat breed out there)

if you can go to some goat shows and ask the breeders about their breeds and why they like them :) just make sure they the goats are CL,CLA free, there is some other stuff you need to make sure they dont have, but i cant remember

I spent 10 years owning, raising and milking saanans and nubians. I've been trying to talk DH into them, and he has agreed. I'm thinking mini nubians, casue I don't need that much milk anymore.

I also had a registered lamancha, the only goat I ever knew to fall of something and break a neck.

They are very very sweet. She was a nice little gopher ear out of star milkers. I just don't need a gal. a day of milk anymore. I'm seriously considering the mini nubians for that reason. I don't want something so small I have to milk with two fingers though.

BTW, the one nubian I had (the others were Saanans and crosses) was hysterical. Much more useful for comic relief than milking. (sigh) She was a bottle baby picked up at an auction. Spent the rest of her days trying to sit in my lap. Knocked me and my chair (outside) over more times that I want to remember. Great jumper, very clever, always up to something, sweet, but was way to intersted in the milking process to stand still for it. Always had triplets and lost one. Got her head constantly stuck in fences, and was impossible to remove it without a saw (for the metal hog fence we used). I know just what you mean. I'm hoping I read that the mini nubs are more sane, but if not, I think I'll get laManchas again.

we have this new bottle baby that loves to jump, she got stuck in the trash can, twice -_- then i had to stop her form jumping into a full waterer 0-0
