The goats I'm looking at have never been milk goats. One was milked a couple of days once, thats it. The other is nursing quads right now. I'm trying to talk her into the milk test....

Otherwise, its back to trying to find a goat in milk, but I'm rather in love with the idea of nigerian dwarfs or mini nubians. Little is good.

Yes, nigerians are great

The one thats nursing quads.. Next time she gives birth make sure she licks you AND the baby, so that she'll bond with all of you (assuming that she has more then one) so it'll be easier to milk. Same for the one whose only been nursed once.

I don't mind that she's been nursed. Works for me for the babies to stretch out the old teats. However, if I buy mama, she comes w/o the kids in full milk in early December. I just want to know if she'll stand at all to be milked. If she will, I can gentle her and bribe her with food. That's how I got the others to stay. OK, well, one Nubian I raised, my first bottle baby, was so queer for me she was hopeless as a milk goat. I had to just turn her into the nursing mama. She wanted to play too much, and couldn't figure out why I was messing with her teats. LOL
