Girls vs Girls

Kevin,

I always leave the babies to work out their foot issues alone. To me, knowing how delicate their feet are, I am very reluctant to mess with them. Personally, I guess if you must do something, I'l get a fat McDonalds staw, cut it to the right length, and split it up the middle in one staright line. I'd slip that over their leg (with new opening) than duck tape it closed, but with room for circulation. No more bends, and it'll just need untapped and adjusted every few days. Do you have a pic? I'd feel better giving advice with a pic.

That is PERFECT! I'm so using that!

I can't seem to take good pictures with this guy but one leg is normal now. The other goes backwards quite a few degrees EXACTLY at the joint

What did you do the first time? A joint issue is more complex than a bone structure issue. How they lay in the egg can effect them, but most self correct w/i the week after hatch. Joint issues are different. In your case, I guess I'd think about a very tiny splint - think cut up toothpicks and 1/4" stirps of medical tape. Stabalize that joint right away. If you can just keep it from bending forward or back, even if the knee heals frooze straght, life can go on without stress and trauma. I'd say 7 -10 days of immobilization to start. Then, very slowly allow joint motion, but only for limited amounts of time until you know if the joint and tendons are stable now.
