Cochin! Your here! I'm so glad, I keep missing everyone, or only getting to visit for like 5 minutes. I was about to throw a hissy fit myself.

Well, since Kevin isn't here, you want to talk guns and hunting? I can't believe Alaska is full of giant animals, and not many people, and they won't let you just buy the permit and license to even get one. Thats lame. Here, we can get license for white tail deer, mule deer, and even some Elk in Western Ks (I'm in East central). Personally, I'm going after white tail. My folks have like 2000 acres, and half is native grasses, trees, and creeks. Its wonderful hunting, and this will be the first year I get to hunt.

I didn't always have the money, but since my dad died, and I'm his sole heir and only child, so now I can at least afford the gun! I bought a Browning x-bolt Stalker .305

Wanna here the STUPIDEST part? Is in Chitna, a place where you dip net (yup, just take a net to fish for salmon), your allowed like 30 red salmon per family. But, this year you cant have a SINGLE king salmon ! (used to be abe to have 1 ) Whats your guess why we cant any more? I wanna hear your guess before i tell you

Lol, well, you have commercial fisheries? Yup, we, THE PEOPLE WHO HUNT FOR FOD (well not us but the natives and people who fish for food, we fish for fun and food) CANT HAVE A SINGLE KING SALMON BECAUSE THE COMMERCIAL PEOPLE HAVE GOTTEN 4,000!!!!! Oh, but you can SPORT fish for them still ! Its so stupid !! and in Valdez, fishing is horrible cause of the commercial fisheries, And the person who runs the charter we usually go on, was trying to get to the bay, and he said to the commercial fishers who had there lines ALL across the little river type part, and he said "Okay move your lines or I'm gonna cut them" (he couldnt even drive through) they started cussing HIM out !!!! Honestly, the fishing has been ruined because of the commercial fisheries !!

My mom and dad do, I usually just come with. This year tho i might bring my own gun so I can hunt say rabbits or grouse (lol)

Really? The commercial fisheries have taken everyone elses fish for actualy meals at home, thats sooo selfish! OMG. I hope your folks friends cut their f**king lines!

You should go with your folks to hunt. I think its good practice, and maybe they'll let you shoot next year. Under 16, you don't even need a hunting license. If your gonna shoot rabbits, a 22 is a great choice. Easy to handle, practically no kick back at all (not worries there, I shot one at 12 too) and I think you can take grouse too. They aren't expensive, and neither is the amunition. Great choice for a beginning "real hunting" gun. In fact, almost bought the 12 year old DD one today.

(I love that you offer me insight into 12 when I need it. Tell me, can I trust her with a gun???
