Girls vs Girls

AK is pretty dry so I'll try to keep it really humid

Cool.
OK, I think I understand. How long does it take for a quail to hatch? I heard 18 days somewhere?
Lots of sponges, KK. Lol.

Thanks for all the help Marty!!!!!
Yes, humidity is very important for you then. If the eggs don't lose enough moisture they don't hatch. If they lose too much, they also don't hatch. Just let the sponges dry to the touch before drowning again. That seems to work out good overall w/o a gauge. Be sure your temp is exact, Kagu. No room for error here, or your'll kill every egg. It MUST BE AT 99.5 +/- only about .3 degrees for optimum hatch. If it gets to 97 or 103, hatch is over. (ok, a spike for like 10 minutes won't change internal egg temp, and thats whats important, but if the internal temp go up or down more than a degree, game over. Quail eggs change temp faster, cause they are little. Chciken eggs are absolutely the most easy to hatch,

Aw, thanks!

I'm ok geese how it is. I was just trying to be inclusive and fair. Guess that didn't work. I feel a gulf between C. and I now. I deliberatley made an effort to include her and say something nice over as "goose lovers please help" but only for the spiritual excercise.

Yup, I know. I know SOME stuff just from lurking (:

OK, see now I'm scared

Maybe I should try chickens first, for better luck! Atleast if I mess up, our hens (hopefully!) will still be pumping out more eggs!

Yes, thats a good idea. Save a week of eggs, turn them daily, and set them all at the same time, at about the day and time of week you want hatch. Quail take 17 days. Chickens 21. Ducks, Geese, and Turkey 28ish (ducks and geese may take 2-4 days longer)

That's true. The duck section defiantly needs updating though. I'm tired of 8 million coop questions

. Really? I'm so sorry

I don't know what her problem is.
LOL, the doggy darkside pic was funny. I thought it would post here, when I quoted you, since it wasn't my pic in my actualy quote, but no.

I know it's acting all weird lately for me too. The engineers may want to stop "fixing" things.

I'm planning on them hatching on the 23rd day or so, at the latest at least (:

Thanks for the help, and when we set them I'll tell you
