Cochin, rottin sticky eggs are bad. I'd toss any you can smell are bad. (sniff quick, they blow anytime) If your sure they all got below 97 for more than an hour, they are dead. (That would mean about 1.5 hours off nest at 76 degrees) If it was longer, or colder out, well, not good.

Thats what I thought, and S & M (no pun intended) is a good brand. Reliable, and this one is the best and most accurate of its class, and of 9mm in general. I like accuracy, that means it may work for competition on a lower level plain.

No, they were definitely dead. Colder then skin temp. I;d imagine 97 is warmer then skin temp, eh?

I'm not a huge handgun fan, but its much more practical for locking away in a small space discreetly than a rifle or shotgun. I very dutifully locked open the shell chamber of the shotgun, and took out the bolt for my x-bolt rifle, so now any curious kids at my place can't use any ammo to actually LOAD a gun. Since Ive got ammo and arms, it seems prudent to rendor then temporarily unfirable. Don't want either the girls or criminals to use my own arms agains me. Of course, I don't have any of the big ones for that anyway. They are hunting tools.

The new toy however, should be for fun and self defense. I'll be taking all appropriate classes of course.

My computer ran out of battery, and somebody tidied the charger into oblivion again. (DH likes to clean ya'll, you don't dare leave anything out!!!) I did find it just a few minutes ago (a.m. now).

The girls havn't don't anything naugty, and its not like I don't trust them, but its just not safe to have a gun without safety precautions to prevent accidental or purposeful discharge by the untrained. They could kill themselves or somebody else on accident. You've been trained more then them in the use and proper safety precautions with firearms. Ruth has shot a .22 and a bb gun, but Julia is clueless. I just don't want any accidents on my watch. Besides, it is the duty of the gun owner to insure that their guns are safe.

So, whats new in Alaska? What are your temps (high) these days? September is pretty much deep fall for you isn't it? What kind of trees grow near you? Only evergreen?
