Native to central and South America. No known US breeders, but there were breeders in Europe. No known links to actual birds, but a few zoos have them. I guess its hard to get them from the zoos too, as they prefer to sell to each other.

They are apparently very poor breeders in captivity,

Well, we should leave them to do it where they are happy lovers. LOL. There is always peacocks if I want bucks and headaches both.

BTW, hows the peacock thing going? I'm going to call tomarrow and check on what all I need to have to be sure I can ship birds without any problem. I think if I sell some eggs and hatchlings both, I can make more money.

Have you seen peacock pheasants? They are so gorgeous and a lot easier to get.

No one else has inquired about them but I'm pretty sure I just want to keep them for the time being.

I hope no one bothers you about shipping. There's not much regulating down here.

They are pretty. Are they hard to keep? Smaller than regular peafowl, and saner the pheasants I dearly hope???

That's what I've heard. However they do require heat I believe.

Well, I don't like peafowl much anymore, and I don't like pheasent either, so I'd probobly ought to pass.

Wonder if I can find a girl midget white turkey to go with my boy, or a boy bourben red to go with my girls. (sigh)
