Girls vs Girls

Oh, heres what I have going with the goats.

Bella was exposed to Copper for early 2013 kids....Bella is a mini nubian. she was born 4-15-11
Ava is in milk, nursing quads, she is a NIGERIAN DWARF.
So I am not sure if you want to try her, but I do think she is making alot of milk to keep up with the quads.
Ava was born 3-19-10 She is out of my breeding stock. She is registered in ADGA, NDGA, and AGS
They are both pictured on my website.... Bella is $300 and Ava is $350
I would sell both for $600.
Bella is ready to go now...........but Ava would not be able to go until the end of Nov/first of Dec.
Since she is nursing the quads.....I could try to get them on a bottle, but I think with them being a month old already that might not work.

So: no time to research, but if anyone want to offer their opinions, I'm open to them. I have to go pick up the girls. I'll be back in about 40 minutes.

Hmm I don't have any experience so I can't form a proper opinion but hopefully Cochin can weigh in!

GET THEM
.

NDs aren't known to have quads so if she had them that is a GOOD. FREAKIN'. DEAL .

Ask her about her first litter and if this is her First Freshning. The mini nubian sounds good as well, who is Copper though? A ND? Yes, that is a great deal, and I'd get them (Although WAY overpriced here - most does go for around 150 - 250, usually no more tho)

Kev, yes the Austin zoo is amazing :]

Quote: OK but also look for
Good attatchments
How their being raised (hay, pasture, lotta grain, little grain, etc )
What their moms/ sisters / grand parents (if they have any) udders look like
How much the ND is producing (Ask if the lady can seperate them at night for one night, milk in the morning, and record how much she got)
Look to see if either of the doe's are hard keepers - Do they look fat, have sunken in hips, etc. A hard keeper will eat more grain, but aren't to big pains in the butt.

I gotta go, bye guys, I'lll add to this later

(Oh and look at hooves!)

Too funny. I got my first milk goats at auctions as kids for $20. The first turned out to be a nubian, and the second a saanan. Both were great goats, but the saanan was much easier to milk.

I have made it a requirement that I have two weeks to get an ok from vet clearing their health, and assuring that they have no mammory issues. I may not be able to meet them first, and she doesn't have the parent of any but the dad of the mini nubian. She doesn't milk hers, but I may ask her to do the don't milk overnight thing, and try to milk. I know the little one hasn't been a milk goat, but comes from milking lines.

I don't care if I show the goats, I just want their blasted milk, and cuteness. LOL Besides, if I wait a month, I'll have time to prepare to start milking twice a day.

Doesn't matter if you show goats - Bad attatchents are ANNOYING. The udder can get ripped open, the teats get elongated, its a pain in the butt. Plus, its just ugly. They don't have to be great, but good enough her udder will last.

Good call on having a vet check them out, hope their healthy buggers. :]

Yep. I know quite a lot, but not everything. I'd know in a moment if I sat down and milked, though. Too bad its a 3 hour drive and we drive volkswagens.
