Hi. I’m new. This is my very first post (other than intro). I finally decided to get chickens! My 40th bday present to myself 😅. I’m sure the question I’m about to ask has been asked over n over. But I’m hoping to get some relief.

Are my three chicks girls?!?!

I purchased them from a place that says 90% accuracy for sexing at the hatchery. Internet says it’s too early to determine but some seem to have ways of determining at a young age...

They are 16 days old.

the brahma chick is super super sweet. I don’t want to get even more attached to these chicks if I’ll have to rehome them in the future 😫

please help if u can. Ty so much!

1- blue cuckoo maran- standing on the heater

2- dark brahma- in my hand

3- cream legbar is the “yellow” chick. Was told she’s 100% girl.

hoping for good news 😨

Legbar, autosexing breed, looks female.

Brahma, just need to wait and see. Brahmas have small combs and wattles, and they also tend to mature slowly, so expect a Brahma pullet to have small, pale comb/wattles for longer than the other chickens do. If the Brahama's comb & wattles get bigger and redder (more than the other chicks you have), then suspect male.

Cuckoo Maran--probably female. Cuckoo-colored chickens can sometimes be sexed by the chick down, or the color of the feathers. I'm not very good at it, but I think yours is female. (A few more weeks will make it much more obvious one way or the other.)
