3 and 4 were chest bumping this morning so I’m a little concerned they are both cockerels. That’s how my two RIR Roos acted at this age. I was really hoping at least one would be a pullet. I’m still going to hold onto hope!

Oh, good to know! I don’t remember ever seeing any of my pullets doing it, but they probably did when I wasn’t looking.

I bought these Easter Eggers (she was calling them Olive Eggers, but I know that’s not right) about 5 weeks ago. They are 6 weeks old today. I know that there’s no way to tell for sure yet what sex they are, but some of you are so good at guessing that I thought I’d make a post and see how many have it right after a few more weeks. Sorry it’s so many pictures. I was trying to get good angles. The way I identify the reds is that one has yellow legs and the other has grayish. Same with the blacks. I do not see any cockerel characteristics so far.

We have a BR that chest bumped an 11 month old Cinnamon Queen, when she was 5.5 weeks old. She only tried that once...and returned to playing with hatch mates.
