Give oystershell in winter?

Hi there, I was wondering if I need to offer my flock oyster shell during the winter even though they won't be laying eggs.
They get fed layer pellets.

They technically shouldn't get layer if they aren't laying. Switch them to something like an All Flock, and keep a dish of oyster shells out just in case. That's what I would do.

Or grower feed works fine too. The layer feed won't kill them but it would be easier on them if you switched it.

my girls are on grower, with oyster shell on offer to the side. I'm planning on keeping them on that all year round.

i keep oyster shell in a bowl for them all year round.. they don't eat it much, but i like to have it available.. i figure, they know when their bodies need it..

I feed Grower also all year around...Oyster shell on the side....I provide Granite grit also in the winter being the ground is covered in snow....
