DBF got summoned by my father due to an issue that happened between DBF, my mom & me back in January. The gist was that "the women in this family are all crazy". Poor DBF - he's seen all kinds of family crazy over the years.​

She saw my aunt for months before the birth pregnant and my sister totally not. But, she was convinced that my parents had sent my sister out in shame to bear a secret child. So yeah, I will skip that aisle at Habitat, thank you very much. I'm sure many grandmas are lovely women (my mother included), but mine is "interesting" to say the least.

I talked to the builder on the home that I was telling you about. He told me that the countertops that were used were a cheaper version of Corian and that for the counter on the cabinets (about 8 feet long) around the stove and the kitchen sink island (about another 8 feet long) the cost was only about $600.00 installed. He also told me that here in Myrtle Beach area, it is available through Lowes as well, but for a little more that Advanced Surfaces. He didn't say how much more was a little though!

Oh, I should update!

DBF (love that man) found a brand new granite store that have 8'x2' slabs of granite for $99.

AND it's 10% off for the rest of the month.

Installation is $200, so we're going to get granite countertops for about $300!!

That's an awesome price!!

I was going to suggest remenants. They are great small pieces that work well for bathroom vanities and don't cost near as much as Home Rip Off and nothing Lowe's about their price

We looked at the remnants at the granite place but they're $25/linear foot. It's cheaper to get the slab! I can't wait to have the bathroom be done. It's only been, oh... 3 years.
