giving hens feed for Chicks?

Sorry but the FDA says that a lot of things are not harmful to us that they find out later are!!!! I personally would not eat the eggs from birds that are on any meds. Regardless of FDA recommendation.

I understand and concur. However, you first statement said that the amprolium was "passed into the eggs" which wasn't accurate. That is what needed to be cleared up, that's all. Most folks only feed the medicated for a brief time, as merely a prophylactic against cocci, a horrid thing to have race through one's flock. Others, especially those in dryer or more northern areas, don't bother with medicated chick feed ever.

Your goals, which apparently include a natural diet, are admirable. It is a worthwhile endeavor.

We have been eating their eggs and have had not any problems with health wise and I definitely look the same!

Do u let them roam?.
They have a house and an outdoor pen but I don't let them outside of their pen because I have herding dogs, and my one female, Indie, is an aggressive herder and very into it and she will kill small animals (Chickens, rabbits, birds, etc.). Unfortunately she killed my 2 bantam roosters that flew out of their pen.
