Yes, pheasants can be a challenge. Prairies are very demanding. The easiest pheasants to raise and I would recommend are the Ruff pheasants....the Golden pheasants and Lady Amherst pheasants. Which ever you decide, I wish you the best of luck.Welcome! I love Sebrights and Marans. I haven't raised pheasants, quail, or prairie chickens, but have been thinking about them, since I'd like to breed birds, but can't keep roosters where I am due to the noise.
Is there anything particularly challenging about keeping pheasants? They certainly are beautiful and varied.
