Gladys is not feeling well.

After some research, apparently oregano is the most highly nested natural antibiotic. Just gave her some with her feed and treat mix and she gobbled down four double hand fulls. I think we're onto something. I filled up her big water bowl, it was a little warm. Now she's grooming herself happily.

Okay, thank you Jodi.
Both medications are safe in ducks and the dose for SMZ is quite wide - 450 - 900 mg/liter of drinking water. for 10 - 14 days. It may also be mixed with the food at 100 mg/kg bodyweight. A soft food like scrambled eggs or oatmeal are the best way to give it in food. BAytril would be my first choice in a case like this. The dose would be 50 mg/Liter in water on day one, then 25 mg/Liter for a total of 10 days. In the food, the dose would be 200 mg/kg bodyweight daily for 10 - 14 days. Soft foods like those mentioned above would be best to mix it with.
If you should have further questions Jodi, please let me know.
KInd regards,
Dr. Bob
Thanks so much. Now how do I get it? It's not available without a prescription.

Awesome, it's on the way, thanks so much.
When you get it you will want to give it orally, not in the water, not in the food. The dose most vets prescribe is 10 mg/kg of bodyweight twice a day. If your duck weighs 5 pounds that is 0.23 ml twice a day orally, but go ahead and round up to 0.25 ml (1/4 ml) if you want.
