I am looking for a recipe for the glaze for glazed donuts. I have the spiffy New & Improved Betty Crocker cookbook and let me tell you, I ALWAYS need to borrow my mom's old one. I WANT MY OLD ONE BACK NOW!

I worked in a donut shop a long time ago.. all we did was mix water and powdered sugar and added almond extract to it.. we had a machine that spread the glaze over the donuts.. It was warmed up so that it would flow better.. You could warm it up in a pan and dunk each donut by hand.

Well Yappy, for you I got off my booty and fetched the cookbook that has all the "Top Secret Recipes" from restaurants...

The Krispy Creme doughnut uses this as the glaze...

1 3/4 plus 2 tablespoons powder sugar
1/4 cup boiling water

After 2 minutes on the cooling rack, spoon glaze over the top of each doughnut. Well coat entire surface with glaze. Recycle the glaze that falls through the hole by spooning back into the bowl with the hot glaze.

I want one- or a dozen!!!
