Hey everyone! Wheeler Three from Glen Caileag farmette introducing ourselves.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We are new to chickens and got our first chicks a few weeks ago. We live in the country and have been planning for chickens for years. The covid-19 quarantine gave us the perfect opportunity to add to our family!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 5 amazing little chicks right now.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have 3 Plymouth Barred Rocks and 2 Buff Orpingtons.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
So far, their amazing little personalities!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
We are a Girl Scout family, we play Dungeons and Dragons a lot as a family, and we also rescue lethal white Australian Shepherds and Border Collies as well as working barn cats.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We are a two mommy family with a 12 year old daughter, 2 blind/deaf rescue dogs (1 Aussie 1 Border), a rescue working barn cat, and now 5 chickens. We live on about 3 acres in Maryland.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Research led us to BYC and y’all have already been a big help! Looking forward to lots of learning here.
