I got a paper thin egg today that looks like an inside out version of my barred rocks egg. It's so odd. My girls have layer and oyster shell on demand, plus free range. So it's concerning that it's so thin. And the inside is brown and the outside is white-ish. I cracked it open and the inside is strange. The yolk looks concerning. 😳. I guess it could also be from a new layer. I have a few that will be soon. All my girls just came out of a molt so they just started up again. Thoughts on this weird egg?? Is it concerning looking?
Also, I have no white layers. Unless it's a new layers egg. I have varying shades of cream and brown. All of which I know who lays what lol. No idea who laid this one.

I see it. It does look strange.. also tiny.. if you do have possible new layers aside from the returning layers, size might be one indicator as to who it came from. I see you do have some expected to start soon!

That's called a mottled yolk, which can have several causes. See if the following linked artlicle helps at all..

Brown layers have white shells, so just no coating on outside.
The yolk is definitely funky and could be why the inner membrane is kind of brown.
Hopefully just a new layer glitch.
If you can spy/stalk them enough to catch the culprit in the act, it might help.
