And yet, she didn't quite want to either, Stop being so freaked out! Whatever made this scent is long gone. Whatever made all these scents is long gone! So she figured she ought to follow the blood trail back out of the den.

Dove was nearly at the den entrance when she heard the voice, she froze. What if I'll get in trouble if I reveal myself? I didn't ask any permission to come out here.

‘ Dove? Are you over here? You shouldn’t be out in the forest by yourself, a bear could come and eat you for supper.’ Mitts sat and waited. She had heard noise inside the fox den, and was pretty sure Dove was in there.

Dove mulled over that prospect for a minute, What if a bear had found me? I can't even wrestle my brother to the ground, I very well couldn't defeat a bear! Dove figured that if she wanted to be continue being pampered by the pack, it didn't make much sense to wonder away on her own, if I did manage to chase the bear off, I might gain a rank early, and then my life would be ruined! "Well I followed a trail of blood that smelled weird all the way from the camp entrance to here," was it just Dove or was the scent getting stronger? "I discovered it yesterday when me and Daisy were playing and it leads to all these weird holes and this den. I think it belonged to a fox once, and there's this ominous scent and all these weird scents mingled together. So I've been trying to figure out what they all are."

‘ Well, the trail of blood you followed is mine, if you were wondering. There were some fox kits that used to live here, but their mother died so we saved them and now they have good homes.’
Mitts started cleaning her eye like a cat would, trying to get the last bits of blood off. It had started bleeding again that morning, and she still couldn’t see out of it.

"Wow!" said Dove, "That explains a lot. What are kits? I guess I'll go back to camp now" she stepped out of the den,
