Glacier trotted behind her. "I wonder what deer smells like, though." He murmured

"It was around me all the time when I was a pup, and I'll remember it when I smell it. I'll let you know when I scent some," Lana replied, continuing on through the underbrush.

Glacier smiled gratefully. "Thanks, Lana." Though he didn't want to admit it, he felt like a burden, as he didn't know how to act like a wild wolf.

(I know, but he doesn't know what a live deer smells like. The meat at the zoo also probably had the mingled scents of humans)
