‘ No one needs to be beaten for the pack to be good. I am leaving to start a new pack and anyone who agrees with me can come. There will be no ranks and everyone will be equal.’ Mitts said as she turned around to leave.
Falcon smirked and silently wondered how long Mitts would last trying to be the Alpha of a pack.

Finally, Sapphire found her voice. Crawling on her stomach, she came to Mitts. "Mitts, please, don't go! Your one of the only ones I can talk too! Please!"
‘ You can come with me Sapphire. You are not wanted here. If you were you would not have all those scars.’ Mitts said on the other side of the boundary line.

‘ You won’t get full here.’ Mitts said as she left the territory.
She whined anxiously. She was torn between the chance of food and friendship and the comfort of her birth pack. She didn’t want Mitts to leave, she was a very nice wolf and always gave everyone help and food.

Sapphire lowered her head, and then looked up. "No," she said softly. I belong with my pack. I have lived like this my entire life, and I do it because the pack benefits from it. It is hard, true, but I do it because I care for everyone here. Including you. Please, stay."

‘ They don’t feel the same about you Sapphire. You deserve a happy life. They don’t need a punching bag.’

Willow bounded halfway towards Mitts, not crossing the boundary, and faltered. She looked between Mitts and her birth pack, and slunk with her tail between her legs back to her pack, head down.

Falcon looked at the she-wolf, a newfound respect for her reflected in his pale green eyes.
