Mitts finally relaxed. She looked down and noticed that there was still a bit of the magic plant left. She went over to Sparrow and gave her the rest as a thank you.

Willow bounced around and snatched up her scrap of rabbit skin, shaking it fiercely. “She’s ok!” She barked in joy and raced around the camp, trying to instigate play with the others. She stopped for a moment because her back wounds stung and let out a quick help, then continued her bouncing, letting out occasional yipss of happiness.

Mitts was far too exhausted to even try and fight with three legs. She layed down and watched the stampede from inside the den.

Willow cocked her head at the stampeding group of cattle. Lots of meat on those. She thought, licking her drooling lips. She halfhearted chased a calf, but purposely let it get away, savoring the chase for a moment.
