Umber sat awkwardly in cave, unsure of what to do. It’s been a while since I’ve been around other wolves, she thought with a sigh

Luna came down the hill, cautious of the newcomer who had set foot in their boundaries. The loner had said that she wanted to join, but what if all she wanted to do was make herself fat on their hard work and leave? Or worse, what if she wanted to attack? Luna decided that she would take care of the loner, but would also be on guard. Glancing up at Falcon, she told him with her eyes, Be at the ready.
Falcon flicked his ear in acknowledgment, glad that at least one other wolf wanted to take the proper precautions, even if this newcomer was not a threat.

Sapphire padded into the cave quietly, looking around to see that no one was watching. "You look hungry," She said, noting the loner's ribs protruding from her skin, ignoring the fact that hers were even more so. "Would you like some meat?" She looked around again, hoping no one had heard her

“If I’m causing too much trouble, I can go” she offered. “I really don’t want to cause any trouble.”
’ It’s okay.’ Mitts responded, cleaning her own filthy pelt.

After waiting a while, Luna walked up and whispered to him, saying, "Make sure to keep an eye on the food pile. It may be that the loner wants to carry off our supply." She sighed. "Our ways seem to be forgotten, don't they?"

“I caught a rabbit yesterday, so I’ll be okay for another day. I really don’t think the other would be too happy about me taking some of your meat.”

Umber sniffed the air, smelling the fresh meat pile, she was hungry, but didn’t want to risk a place in the pack for a cow leg.

Mitts got up to go grab some food. She was starving, as she hadn’t eaten in a few days. She looked through the pile and found a bit of cow left over from the numerous stampedes that had happened in the last few days. She took her meal and sat by the edge of the forest, happy to finally fill her aching stomach.

Falcon nodded, adding, “Yes, they do. I just want things to go back to the way they were when I was still a pup.” His gaze was distant, as though he was remembering a fond memory.
