Mitts stared at Josh like he just asked her if the earth was flat. She nudged Sapphire awake again and started looking through the best boxes for any hidden eggs.

Sapphire grumbled at being awoken, but when she saw the settler, she immediately jumped up and backed up against the corner, whimpering. She hoped the settler wouldn't see her protruding ribs and scars and know that she was an omega.

Sapphire watched over the pups, making sure they ate. She felt like their mother while their actual mother was gone.
