Sapphire frowned. "I don't think you're okay, Mitts. Something must have gotten messed up when you fell."
Mitts was fine, or at least she wanted to think that. Her head hurt terribly and her stomach was practically crying for food. Mitts didn’t want to be a nuisance though, so she hid it.

She shook her head, trying to show she was fine. She was fine after all, but she wasn’t.

Iora burst after him till they were neck and neck, she pushed herself to go faster and her niches her muzzle in front
Blizzard sprinted at the same pace, but then he quickly stopped, seeing the herd up ahead. "We're here," He said. "And as for the race, let's call it a tie. You're a swift runner, Iora."

Sapphire shook her head. "Mitts! I know something's wrong. That's why you won't talk, but you need to eat." So saying, she stomped over to the food trough, selected a piece of meat, and practically shoved it down Mitts' throat.

Mitts reluctantly ate it. She wasn’t very happy about it though. Her head was pounding, but her stomach was a bit better.

Mitts didn’t like Sapphire being upset at her, and she decided that she would just listen to her. It felt like she messed this whole thing up so she was trying to make it up to Sapphire.

“You kinda have to be if you are a loner, but for a pack member I’m impressed Blizzard” Iora exclaimed. She crouched down with her stomach near the ground and shuffled into the scrub so the deer wouldn’t see her, she was also downwind from them so they wouldn’t catch her scent and know she was there. She nodded at Blizzard to chase the her way.

Sapphire sighed. "I hope you get better, Mitts. I don't want you to be upset with me, but food will give you more strength. Thanks for coming for me, without you I wouldn't have even thought of leaving. I just wish you didn't have to take the plunge for me. You're a good friend, Mitts." She smiled

Blizzard nodded and silently crept up behind the deer. He let out a sudden bark, and then chased the herd, breaking a small buck away from the herd, leading it towards Iora. He locked eyes with her.

Mitts smiled back. She felt good about herself for the first time since the fall, and she felt genuinely happy. It felt good to hear she did something good.

She spied the smaller sick deer at the back of the heard, it was the weakest and struggling to run. The heard stampeded by her and she sprung clamping her jaws around its leathery neck. She twisted its neck and heard the crack indicating she had snapped it and it was dead. “There. Food for two” she smiled at Blizzard
