Mitts sighed. She wanted to speak again, just to hear her own voice. She liked her voice, and now it was gone. She couldn’t communicate with anyone really. She wanted to apologize, especially to Flame, but she couldn’t. Mitts couldn’t even go hunting and being back prey as an apology. She just sat there, being useless.
 
Luna swam for a ways with the herbs in her mouth, and finally scrambled onto the beach. She raced as fast as she could to camp, where she found Mitts. "Here, eat these." Luna said

Mitts tilted her head at Luna, confused, then she ate the herbs. It made her feel much better, very much better.

Mitts smiled back. She did feel better, but she was still hungry. She wished she would’ve accepted the food from Sapphire, but Mitts would’ve felt too guilty afterwards. She wished she could eat from the food pile, but Shark probably didn’t like her much now.

Mitts smiled and accepted the meat. She took a small bite first, then devoured some more. It felt good to have something in her stomach.
