Lottie stares at Mitts, “are you serious? I am a lot higher than you in the ranks and you are ordering me around?! Get a life Mitts.” Lottie turned her attention to Sapphire “what happened?”

‘ I’m telling you to be helpful and stop acting like a stuck up jerk. I have a life, and heck, it might be better than yours. Now, on the topic of Sapphire, she got attacked by a cougar. I fought it off and me and Luna took her back to camp. It looks pretty bad.’ Mitts stared down at Sapphire.

“Yep. Have you washed the wound?” Lottie couldn’t help but feel her words cut into her like a knife. Mitts was right. Lottie didn’t have a very good life, she was a good rank but didn’t have a life other than that. No friends and no mate. But there was probably someone there she could love but she had spent years obsessing over Clyde so she had missed every opportunity that came her way. Lottie shook away her thoughts but it was obvious she was unhappy, she might as well have had it written across her forehead

‘ Okay.’ Mitts replied, then started dragging Sapphire in the direction of the creek. She was dragging her awfully slow, but dragging her nonetheless.
