Hey all, this chick is 4/5 weeks old and her feathers are so weird compared to all the other ones we've raised this spring. Is this a normal pattern for feathering in? Or does she have some sort of disease or deficiency?

Thanks!

Those are pin feathers. Young chicks molt a few times before laying. Sometimes if the brooder or outside temperatures are warm, they will grow their feathers slowly and you will see their pin feathers.

Perfect. I was pretty sure that's what was going on, but hers just seem bigger in circumference and more sparse than the other EEs we have. Thanks! :)
