I have gnats in the coop swarming pretty bad. I've read some of the remedies for flies. Can these help with gnats, also?

Your gnats are probably black flies. They are the worst! They go for my horses ears and belly. They also go in my turkeys ears! The one thing that stops them is the barn. I don't know why, but they don't follow them or me indoors. Windy days and during the day when the sun is out they aren't really around much. Evening and morning they are pretty fierce!! Not much else really stops these little monsters. I put a roll on fly repellent in my horses ears, and provide a barn for them to hide in from them. Try those sticky fly tapes. I got a "fly" book from the people that sell fly predators and they have no remedy for the black fly. (they are the size of a gnat, but with a nasty attitude) Good luck
