Do you have little flying gnats in your house, but didn’t before the quail? If that’s what you’re saying, yes they can attract any type of bugs, and if I remember you keep them in a plastic bin right? With the birds getting older and larger, it might not be enough space, and the poo and food is attracting flying insects.

If things are kept clean, they should not attract gnats.

In the spring, rains will hatch out buffalo gnats. Vicious, biting no-see-ums. These gnats annoyed the chickens, tormented the quail and bit me. The quail didn't have the luxury of moving to a different part of the yard like the chickens.

Yes, quail will attract biting gnats.

Wet, soiled bedding will attract gnats faster. Keep the bedding clean and, most importantly, dry.
