goat and sheep together-planning for the future

I've searched and can't find a quick answer in the many pages that come up. My question is, can one goat and one sheep keep each other company? Or does it depend on individuals. I'd love to have one Nigerian Dwarf doe to possibly milk one day and a Shetland Sheep. We really don't have room for two of each, but I'd never get an animal if it wasn't going to be happy with the living arrangements, as in one lone goat or sheep.
Thanks for any thoughts. We're a long way off from getting either!

I think if they were both young and about the same age, then they could adapt to being together

The only problem would be the goat would need minerals with enough copper to kill a sheep.
You'd also have to make sure the feed was safe for the sheep.

Youd have to give them both sheep minerals and supplement the goat with another source of copper

the only problem would be feed..goats need copper and sheep cant really have it...but...i hear ya!..i'd love a cute little sheep!..

Thanks, that's what I needed to know! I knew someone would have a quick answer for me. Doesn't sound like a good plan at all. Back to one or the other, or should I say two of one or the other. (It's late, I'm confusing myself so I'm going to bed!)
I'm leaning toward the goats, but I have a friend who has three sheep who is always telling me how much better sheep are than goats. I love her sheep and she's fairly persuasive. She is not a goat fan so I hear a lot about how much trouble they are. Then again she's a serious spinner and knitter whereas I am a novice knitter and I spent one day hand spinning with her. I loved it but I don't know if I loved it enough to get sheep instead of goats.

Aw, thanks. At least I can enjoy spending time with her sheep whenever I want!

We love our little Nigerian goat!! I was nervous about getting goats as well, but have certainly changed my mind now!! Also, just to let you know, we had a shetland sheep who was due, and since it was _45 F. out, we put her in our greenhouse in a pen. She got lonely, so we put our Nigerian goat in with her-it sure perked her up! We keep our goats with the shetland sheep outside, as well. No problems.

My friend has goat and sheep together. She feeds each in a separate stall at night and then for minerals the goat one is on the other side of the fence. They can get their head thru the fencing while the sheet cannot.
