Goat breed that doesn't make much noise (:

I'd totally recommend Nigerian Dwarf goats for being less noisy and having a quieter voice than most other breeds. My two bucks hardly ever say anything and when they do I can't even hear them across my farm. They are also fabulous milkers and take up a smaller space (so you could have more goats!) and eat less. And, I've got plenty of friends who hand milk their NDs. No problem at all doing it, either. Good luck!!

Well personally I love my Sables. Also, they are a breed we are trying to grow, if you're interested in doing registered stock through ADGA. My husband had vetoed LaManchas because they lack of ears freak him out, lol.
I love , but the pink skin isn't so great for my desert type conditions. Also, I like fun colors. Temperament wise they are all going to be similar. Size wise they area about the same. Production wise they should all be similar in amount, I think that Manchas have a little more butterfat.

Don't get nigerian dwarves

Your girls are noisy because you spoil them, from what I've read in your threads. However, this is not true of all Nigerian Dwarves. In my small herd, there is a wide range of 'loudness'. Some of mine hardly make more than a soft sound when excited by food or attention. Most have 'normal' voices, neither loud or soft. I have a buck who is a yeller, but his breeder bottle fed him (dam had mastitis) and spoiled him as a kid.

Well I'm sorry that I treat my goats nicely, instead of throwing them out in a pasture somewhere for 12 hours everyday.

I think I am going to settle with the LaMahcha goats, if I can convince my parents that their good milk makes up for their unflattering ears! :) Thank you for all of your help.

Ilovefarming :)
