Oh that sounds good, the free testing. That way you aren't out anything if it just turns out to be nothing. But you'd have the peace of mind when it turns up negative.
Thick in the middle is a good thing! Sign of a good and healthy rumen. My own are pygmies and they all look like weeble wobbles right now (big pregnant too).

Forgot to mention! I had a small herd of Nigerians a while back, and it could be because I was so used to Pygmies but boy were the Nigerians agile in comparison! Such trouble-making little devils.

They can scale a fence alot higher than you'd think! I loved them but they drove my pygmies insane so had to pick one or the other, and had so much more invested into the pygmies. Miss the assortment of colors of that breed though, not to mention my blue eyed babies. Your black & whites are one of my favorite colors. Maybe again in the future!

They burp and pass gas a lot too. The wife says not to laugh at them because it's normal and healthy but I thinks it's hilarious.

Rain let's my wife pet and scratch her at night when she's to tired to resist, Trisha rubs Rain's left side a little and it makes her burp. That's so strange to me.​

Most of ours have been so friendly they are pests! They climb all over you, beg for food, chew on your hair, clothes, etc. I just think they are the greatest!! I am sure they will come around quick, especially if you bring them treats!! lol

We actually have 3 Nigerians, 1 pygmy, 1 fainter and one mini nubian. Goats and donkeys are my favorite animals!!

Went outside to find Misty completely lump free! We brought her into the house, I held her while Trisha cleaned up the crusty pus. Then Trisha said "DON'T LOOK DOWN". She said more pus was coming out and she knows I can't see that kind of stuff. Marine or not I can't handle pus. Trisha let it drain out and then gently pushed on the area until a little bit more came out. Then we flushed the area with Betadine/water mix and cleaned the crusty pus off of her leg where it leaked and dried.

Misty was great. She didn't holler or struggle at all. She must have known we were helping. So she's all clean and back in with her sisters.

Do we need to get something to spray on the open wound to keep flies away?

I love to use Blu Kote, it works great!

I would say Blu-Kote too, but not sure it will repel the flies. You can spread some Swat ointment on the hair around the wound and that should keep them away.

Yes, it keeps the flies away. I love that stuff!

Catron is also great to keep the flies away from a wound. Our vet recommended it and it works great.
