Now I got this second hand info from my 14 yr. old granddaughter.....
My daughter sent the same picture to a friend of hers who works in a vet's office and was advised she needed to make an appointment with the vet to have it checked out. She took the goat to the vet and he did some kind of an exam on the eye that involved putting some kind of a dye in his eye and then examining it with a special scope.
It was determined that it was a "growth" (on the lid or eye, my granddaughter didn't know for sure) and the vet thought it could be treated with medicine to "shrink" it and he probably won't need surgery. Also the vet said it wasn't a cancer.
My daughter has been using the medicine on his eye and it is getting smaller so that's wonderful news.
Cherry eye is more in the corner of the eye involving a prolapse of the third eyelid. Never saw one at the top of any eye before and have never had a goat with cherry eye before. Not saying they can't get one...
