Every single web page you read about goats eating yews pretty much say its a guaranteed fatality within hours some die up to 2 days later. but my girls are fine for now and not showing any symptoms if it is true that a mouthful can kill a cow or horse withing 15 minutes the same is not true for goats because mine had a few mouth fulls. So i don't know how much of what i read is true but i know that i read it alot, not just one page but a million diffrent pages none with any hope, it doesnt seem fully accurate but im still knocking on wood and praying!

My goats have eaten things said to be poisonous, and have been fine. I too have read that about yews but haven't had mine eat more than a bit here and there. I'm glad they are okay. I would keep free choice baking soda available at all times to help them keep there stomachs less acidic and to help them through any digestive upsets from things they may consume.

I went ahead and gave them 3 tsp of milk of magnesia, so far they are doing fine but i didnt want to take any chances, i will give them 3 tsp every 4-6 hours just for today

How are your girls? Are they still alive?

They are. We took them to the vet today for a check up and they had Coccidiosis

we caught it early though and now they are on medication for that. I have to go back tomorrow because 3 of the 8 new chickens i bought have swollen eyes, im really hoping its mites or worms and not coryza!i think it may be mites though or at leat im really really hoping because they are also missing feathers on thier heads.Its always something...

Hey guys! I just decided to come on here since I have been so busy lately with the kids and now i have a bit of free time So today are my boys birthday! I have one question what are your goats favorite treats? They are turning one today. One of my goats favorite treat is oranges but he gets bad poop when he eats them

So I would prefer something else. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions.

Mine will knock you down, and bite fingers for tortillas and tortilla chips, as well as crackers and bread.

They went crazy for chips!!! They ran off with the bag and I had to find them. Only to find two chips left in the zip lock bag!

That's hilarious

, my goats too will grabbed the bag. I only feed treats over the fence for my own safety, and they nearly crawl over it. Watch out they don't slurp up your fingers too. Thank you for the laugh.
