Goats?

I'm just wondering what breed of goat would be the best for.....milk...personality...and sale of kids. I'm just thinking for when I get my own place I wouldnt mind having acouple goats on the place. Just wondering what breed you all like.

Nubians are good milk goats. Not so great moms though.

I don't particularly like pure bred goats for milk. Some ppl do. I am just from another camp.

I have saaanan/nubian crosses and I get LOTS of milk with heavy cream that rises. Each doe gives me 1 gallon of milk twice a day when they are not feeding kids. When feeding kids I get about 2 qts for the house and the rest goes to the babies.

Around me, the small dairy breeds are in highest demand (Nigierians, mini-manchas/alpines, etc)

i have an oberhasli doe and shes great with everything!had a beautiful baby, now just two weeks old!

I like toggenburgs, but we have a alpine nubian x. she is nice too.

As an all round good purebred milker, good parent and friendly I lean heavily towards the toggenburg. Second thing is, you are helping maintain a rare species.

Toggenburg sounds like a good breed! Any other opinions?
