Goblins in my computer??

For some reason, when my computer (Vista/Windows) did an automatic update the other day, I lost Tudy as the icon on my desktop BYC icon. In addition to the Forum, I have 2 other BYC shortcuts on my desktop, and they changed as well.
The shortcuts still work just fine, but the icons are driving me mad - they now say ebay!!!

I thought I'd reload the shortcuts, but when I Google BYC, the icon still comes up as ebay - which is says right now next to the http address for BYC as I'm typing this.

I've rebooted everything, including my modem, and also did a System Restore back 5 days. Nothing works.

Anybody else using Windows having this problem? Any suggestions?

Try this:

1) Delete all the shortcuts from your desktop

2) Open your browser

3) Empty your browser Cache

4) Revisit BYC and recreate the shortcuts. For some reason your browser has cached Ebay's favicon in the wrong place and it is showing up in your BYC shortcut. Emptying the cache should fix this.


Also, if you are using Internet Explorer, I'd Highly recommend switching browsers. IE is just plain bad. Some good alternatives are Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Opera.
