OK here is my 2 cents, I have worked in and been very involved in the auto body and used car business. No matter if you find your car or not the accident lowers the value of your car, as far as I am concerned the at fault insurance company should include as payment an estimated amount that the car will lose if it is sold in any claim. About a year ago I purchased a Dodge Durango no "KNOWN" repair work whatever there were two large spots that had had at the very least been repainted in my eyes that lowered the amount I was willing to pay for the vehicle as the end value would be lowered after talking to the salesperson and not hearing what I liked I spoke with the manager and showed him the areasi ended up paying 2000 less then their asking price 1000 for me not being willing to pay posted price in good condition and then the 1000 for the damage I realize that they still made money but not as much as if it had not had damage, and it is very hard to impossible to do such a good job that a good eye will not catch it.
